About The Role
Job Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales process by providing technical expertise, assisting with product demonstrations, and preparing proposals. This role works closely with senior engineers and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
This job profile is intended for early-career professionals who apply broad theoretical knowledge and require the ability to investigate and analyse problems. Solutions are typically discussed/verified with a more senior member.
Main Tasks And Responsibilities
- Deliver annual Order Intake targets, ensuring both revenue and expected margin objectives are met.
- To plan and undertake regular customer visits, maximizing enquiry generation and driving order intake to deliver the growth plan.
- Prepare, submit and follow up all enquiries to customers in a timely and professionally manner.
- Ensure that defined long-term and short-term objectives, strategies and plans are achieved.
- Follow-up regularly on submitted proposals and to update in Sulzer Customer Relationship Management system.
- Co-ordinate projects with Head Office, Regional Offices and Agents, as applicable.
- Provide regular reporting on market, projects, market analysis and sales forecasts.
- Ensure that all business activities conform to local laws and regulations and are following company policies and procedures.
- Any other duties that are assigned by superiors.
Competencies And Behaviour Required
- Frequent travel to domestic customers
- Fluent in written & spoken English in addition to local language
- Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and proactive.
- Good communicator and good leadership skills.
- Good negotiation, planning, coordination & monitoring skills.
Qualifications/Experience And Knowledge Required
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from reputable university.
- Minimum 5 years process equipment selling in Oil & Gas / Oleochemical Industry.
- Proven track record in achieving YoY (Year on Year) sales growth with strong penetration and success in Indonesia Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals & Oleochemical segment.
- Strong network of established contacts with decision makers / influencers in end user and engineering companies from Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals & Oleochemical market will be advantageous.
- Experience working with international, multi-ethnic and cultural teams.
