Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sales Engineer role located in Batam. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support during the sales process, including crafting tailored technical solutions, preparing proposals, and conducting product demonstrations.
The ideal candidate should also have a strong understanding of Batam industrial and port ecosystem, including dermaga operations, logistics flow, shipping activities, and industrial stakeholders, to support business development and client acquisition activities in the area.
Job Description
- Identify and develop new clients and business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industrial stakeholders
- Introduce company products and solutions to prospective clients
- Understand customer technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions
- Provide technical support during sales process, including proposal preparation and product presentation
- Conduct negotiation, follow up quotation, PO, delivery, and payment process
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are properly delivered
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and post-sales support activities
- Understand Batam industrial and port ecosystem, including dermaga operations, shipping activities, and logistics flow to support business development
- Conduct regular customer visits and maintain sales reports and customer database
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Technical Sales, or Business Development in industrial sectors
- Understand Batam industrial area, dermaga operations, shipping, and logistics flow
- Strong network with industrial clients, shipyard, logistics, or port-related companies in Batam is a plus
- Able to identify customer needs and provide suitable technical solutions
- Experience in preparing proposals, presentations, and technical consultations
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Target-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work closely with engineering and operational teams
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and communicative English
- Willing to conduct regular client visits across the Batam area
