A fast growing FMCG company is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Modern Trade Director to lead national modern trade strategy, key account management, and channel growth across Indonesia.
About the Role
This role will be responsible for driving sustainable sales growth, strengthening strategic retail partnerships, optimizing trade investments, and leading high-performing commercial teams within the modern trade channel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute national Modern Trade sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Manage strategic relationships with key retail partners including national and regional modern trade accounts
- Drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and channel expansion
- Lead annual business planning, Joint Business Planning (JBP), and commercial negotiations
- Oversee trading terms, promotional planning, listing opportunities, and in-store execution excellence
- Optimize trade spending and promotional ROI to ensure sustainable business growth
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and shopper behavior to identify growth opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Modern Trade sales team
- Ensure strong execution across distribution, merchandising, visibility, and customer development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Modern Trade / Key Account Management
- Fluent in English
- Proven experience from FMCG beauty, skincare, cosmetics, personal care, or consumer goods industry is highly preferred
- Strong experience handling major modern trade retailers in Indonesia
- Proven track record in driving sales growth, negotiations, and channel profitability
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Excellent commercial acumen, analytical thinking, and strategic planning skills
- Experience managing trade investment, promotional planning, and business forecasting
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
