Job Description

Waruna Shipping Group, a leading player in Indonesia's maritime industry, is continuously evolving to build a strong, future-ready organization. As part of our commercial expansion, we are looking for a driven and high-performing individual to join us as a Commercial Sales (BD) – Tug & Barge Fleet.

This role is focused on driving revenue generation, expanding client portfolio, and maximizing fleet utilization. You will take ownership of the full sales cycle—from identifying potential clients to closing deals and maintaining long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively identify, approach, and acquire new clients for tug & barge services
  • Drive revenue growth by securing contracts, spot charter, and long-term agreements
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business
  • Develop and execute commercial strategies to maximize fleet utilization and profitability
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and lead pricing & contract negotiations
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with operations and fleet teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Manage and track sales pipeline to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Maritime Studies, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Commercial / Sales / Chartering within tug & barge, shipping, or maritime industry
  • Strong network in coal mining, logistics, shipping lines, or commodity sectors is highly preferred
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and generating revenue
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and client management skills
  • Commercially driven, target-oriented, and highly proactive
  • Solid understanding of chartering terms, pricing structure, and barge operations
  • Fluent in English is preferred
