Remote AutoCAD Draftsman Industrial Rack Design (2+ Years Experience)

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Draftsman with 2+ years of experience in industrial rack design to join our team remotely on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience preparing drawings for pallet racking systems, warehouse layouts, and material handling structures, and will work closely with our design/engineering team to deliver accurate, production-ready documentation.

• Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation layouts for industrial racking systems
• Design layouts for Selective, Drive-In, Push-Back, Pallet Flow, Cantilever, and other racking types
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and material takeoffs
• Coordinate rack layouts with warehouse floor plans — aisle widths, clearances, dock positions, column grids
• Work with engineering teams on load calculations, beam/upright specifications, and bracing details
• Revise and update drawings based on client/engineering feedback (redlines, revision control)
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards (RMI/FEM or applicable local codes)
• Maintain organized drawing records and version documentation
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional/remote teams on project timelines and deliverables

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in industrial rack design/drafting (pallet racking, storage systems, or structural steel detailing)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or Tekla is a plus
• Strong understanding of rack components, warehouse layout principles, and structural drafting basics
• Working knowledge of BOM preparation and dimensioning standards
• Familiarity with RMI/FEM standards or regional racking codes preferred
• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Drafting, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal) — mandatory, as this is a remote role requiring regular coordination with team members/clients
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage deadlines independently in a remote setup
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home workstation setup
