Role Description The Refractionist Optician is a full-time, on-site role based at RUMAH SAKIT AN-NISA in Tangerang. The role involves performing refraction assessments, assisting with eye examinations, and supporting optometrists and ophthalmologists in determining accurate prescriptions for lenses and other visual aids. Daily tasks include guiding patients through vision tests, operating basic optical equipment, explaining procedures and results in clear language, and ensuring proper documentation of findings. The Refractionist Optician also helps patients select suitable corrective lenses, collaborates with the clinical team to coordinate patient flow, and maintains a clean and safe working environment. The position requires a strong focus on patient comfort, clear communication, and adherence to hospital policies and clinical standards.
Qualifications
  • Clinical optics and optometry skills, including a solid understanding of Optics and practical experience in Optometry.
  • Experience conducting Eye Exams, including refraction tests and basic visual acuity assessments.
  • Strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and support patients throughout their visit.
  • Relevant certification or diploma in optometry, refraction, or a related optical field, in accordance with local regulations.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in measurements and documentation, and the ability to follow clinical protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary medical teams and to manage time effectively in a busy clinical setting.
  • Basic proficiency in using healthcare information systems and optical equipment; prior hospital or clinic experience is an advantage.
