Radware Network Engineer

Job Description: Radware Alteon ADC/WAF L2 Implementation Engineer

Role level: L2 implementation, migration and operational troubleshooting

Desired overall experience: Approximately 5 to 8 years in network engineering, network security, ADC, load balancing or application delivery, including at least 2 to 3 years of recent hands-on Radware Alteon experience or equivalent.

Preferred Radware qualification: Radware Alteon Level 1 Professional/Specialist or current equivalent. Higher certification is advantageous.

2.1 Role Purpose

The Alteon L2 Implementation Engineer will build, configure, validate and migrate application-delivery and integrated WAF services to Radware Alteon physical appliances and virtual ADC instances. The role requires hands-on ownership of standard and moderately complex application migrations under an approved HLD, LLD, golden configuration, MOP and rollback procedure.

2.2 Key Responsibilities

·        Participate in discovery and collect F5 BIG-IP, application, network, SSL certificate, DNS and traffic information required for migration.

·        Install and perform base configuration of Alteon physical appliances, VA/vADC instances and associated management connectivity.

·        Apply the approved golden configuration, including management access, AAA/RBAC, NTP, DNS, SNMP, syslog, backup and security hardening.

·        Configure interfaces, VLANs, trunks/LACP, self or interface IP addresses, static routes, management routes, MTU and high-availability links.

·        Configure and migrate virtual services, real servers, groups/pools, health checks, persistence, SNAT, redirects, content switching, connection limits and traffic policies.

·        Implement SSL offload, server-side re-encryption, SNI, certificate chains, approved TLS profiles and expiry monitoring.

·        Configure standard integrated WAF/AppWall policies, monitor or learning mode, trusted-proxy settings, logging and approved exceptions.

·        Use supported migration utilities, configuration exports, spreadsheets or scripts to accelerate F5-to-Alteon conversion while manually validating every generated object.

·        Execute FAT, SAT, application testing, HA failover/failback, configuration synchronization and operational integration checks.

·        Perform production cutover, traffic validation, rollback and post-migration hypercare under the direction of the L3 lead.

·        Create or update configuration records, port maps, test reports, migration registers, backup evidence and as-built documentation.

·        Troubleshoot standard service, SSL, persistence, health-monitor, routing, HA and WAF issues and escalate complex defects to L3 or Radware TAC.

2.3 Mandatory Technical Skills

·        Hands-on Radware Alteon administration through CLI, web interface and Cyber Controller.

·        Server load balancing, virtual services, pools/groups, real servers, health monitors, persistence and Layer 7 traffic handling.

·        High availability, configuration synchronization, heartbeat, active/standby operation and controlled failover/failback.

·        VLAN tagging, LACP/trunks, ARP, static routing, NAT/SNAT, TCP sessions, MTU and packet-flow troubleshooting.

·        HTTP, HTTPS, TLS, certificates, SNI, cookies, redirects, headers and common application behavior.

·        Working knowledge of integrated WAF policy operation, signatures, monitor-to-block transition, event logs and false-positive handling.

·        Troubleshooting with ping, traceroute, curl, OpenSSL, packet capture, browser tools, DNS utilities and device logs.

·        Configuration backup, restoration, version control and evidence capture.

2.4 Desired Adjacent Product and Security Knowledge

·        F5 BIG-IP LTM hands-on experience, including virtual servers, pools, nodes, monitors, profiles, persistence, SNAT, HA, partitions and configuration exports.

·        F5 ASM/AWAF knowledge for understanding existing application-security policies and migration dependencies.

·        Cloudflare WAF and DDoS familiarity, including DNS onboarding, origins, proxy/CDN behavior, certificates, rate limits and event logs.

·        General firewall, NAT, DNS/GSLB, PKI/HSM, SIEM, PAM/AAA and application-monitoring knowledge.

·        Desired knowledge on Cloud Infra security

·        Experience with REST APIs, Ansible, Python-based automation, JSON/YAML and Git is desirable but optinal.

·        CCNA, CCNP, F5 Certified Administrator or comparable practical certification is desirable but not mandatory where equivalent experience is demonstrated.

2.5 Expected Deliverables

·        Validated Alteon configuration and application-object build records.

·        Application migration mapping and exception updates.

·        Pre-check, post-check, FAT, SAT and HA test evidence.

·        Configuration backups and rollback evidence.

·        Updated MOP execution records and as-built inputs.

·        Defect logs and escalation information sufficient for L3 or Radware TAC analysis.
