We are building a mesh communication network across multiple radio technologies, from HF to microwave. As an RF Engineer, you will work with radio hardware, firmware, and software to deploy and connect different radio systems into one mesh network for field use.
What You Will Work On
:- LoRa radios with Meshtastic/Meshcore firmware for long-range text communication and GPS trackin
g- HAM radio transceivers (HF/VHF/UHF) connected to computers for automated audio transcription, command transmission, text messaging, and GPS trackin
g- HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah) radios and OpenMANET systems for low-power, long-range Wi-Fi mesh in the sub-1GHz ban
d- IP mesh radios using COFDM modulation across handheld, manpack, vehicle-mounted, airborne, and base station form factors, with multi-hop mesh networking, GPS/BeiDou positioning, and IP data over sub-GHz and L-band frequencie
s- Unified mesh network combining HF/VHF/UHF, LoRa, IP mesh radios, HaLow, and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) using networking libraries such as Reticulum
.
What You Will Do
:- Configure and deploy LoRa nodes for field messaging and position tracki
ng- Set up and operate IP mesh radios across handheld, manpack, vehicle, and airborne form factors, including COFDM modulation, MIMO antennas, frequency planning, and AES encrypti
on- Integrate HaLow radio modules into mesh architectures for extended range sub-GHz connectivi
ty- Connect HAM radio transceivers (HF/VHF/UHF) to Linux computers via sound card interfaces, CAT control, and digital mode protocols (FT8, VARA, AX.25) for automated reception, transcription, and command pipelin
es- Build mesh network routing with Reticulum or similar stacks, bridging different radio links into one transport lay
er- Conduct RF site surveys, propagation analysis, and antenna placement optimization for field deploymen
ts- Build Linux-based radio gateway systems on single-board computers (e.g. Raspberry Pi) for audio processing, digital signal demodulation, and network bridgi
ng- Test end-to-end communication paths across mixed radio technologies in lab and field environmen
ts- Work with team members across disciplines on system integration, testing, and field deployme
