About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated R&D Engineer with 1 to 5 years of experience specializing in manufacturing Special Processes within the Aerospace industry.

The ideal candidate will drive research, development, process optimization, and validation for critical processes like heat treatment, surface treatment, metal plating, and joining technologies. You will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, ensuring all special processes comply with stringent aerospace standards (e.g., Nadcap, AS9100).

Key Responsibilities

• Process Development & Optimization:
• Research, develop, and optimize special manufacturing processes including chemical treatments, surface finishing, heat treatment, metal plating, welding, casting, and forging.
• Establish robust process parameters to improve product reliability, mechanical properties, and structural integrity of aerospace components.
• Documentation & Compliance:
• Draft and review process specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) documents.
• Ensure full compliance with aerospace regulatory standards and customer requirements (e.g., Nadcap accreditation guidelines, AMS specifications).
• Testing & Validation:
• Coordinate metallurgical, mechanical, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to validate process outcomes.
• Analyze material failure root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with production, quality, and supply chain teams to seamlessly transfer R&D-proven processes into shop-floor production.
• Collaborate with external vendors, subcontractors, and research labs for material testing and process trials.
  

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology.
• Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on R&D or process engineering experience within a manufacturing setup.
• Industry Background: Mandatory prior exposure to the Aerospace or Defense sector.
• Technical Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong expertise in core special processes: Heat Treatment, Surface Treatment, Chemical Treatments, Metal Plating, Welding, Casting, and Forging.
• Familiarity with aerospace materials (titanium, superalloys, high-strength steels, aluminum) and their metallurgical behaviors.
• Working knowledge of Nadcap quality standards and material test reports (MTC).
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical thinking, technical report writing, and cross-functional communication abilities.
