Our client for this role is a European-based startup hedge fund. They seek Quantitative Researchers with strong proficiency in English and a solid background in Python programming, machine learning/AI, data science, and (ideally) investing.
Responsibilities
As a Quantitative Researcher, you will work closely with the Portfolio Manager to:
- Design, implement, and test regression and predictive models on trading signals, leveraging both tree-based methods and deep learning techniques.
- Build and maintain robust data integration and research pipelines in Python to handle large and diverse datasets.
- Apply innovative machine learning and AI approaches to generate, clean, and validate proprietary datasets.
- Collaborate with the research team to backtest strategies and evaluate performance across multiple markets.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) clear communication is essential in our distributed team.
- Solid background in Pythonprogramming, with hands-on experience in data manipulation, model implementation, and automation.
- Proven experience in machine learning, AI, and data science, particularly in model development and validation.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to reproducibility, data integrity, and rigorous testing.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Prior exposure to investing, finance, or trading (professional or academic).
- Experience handling financial datasets (e.g., market data, tick data, fundamentals).
- Familiarity with systematic trading strategies and portfolio optimization.
