Job Overview:

The ATEX / E&I QC Inspector applies their conceptual knowledge of inspection and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward inspection problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the Company, Processes, and Customers. The ATEX / E&I QC Inspector understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform ATEX/IECEx inspections (Visual, Close, Detailed) for Electrical, Instrument & Telecom equipment as per IEC 60079 standards.
  • Verify compliance of installations (Ex d, Ex e, Ex n, Ex i, Ex p) and raise punch items where required.
  • Review and sign-off ITRs for Electrical, Instrument, Telecom, and ATEX scopes.
  • Witness MC/PC inspections, including function testing, loop checks, cable testing, and system walkdowns.
  • Conduct and witness preservation activities for electrical and instrument equipment.
  • Perform material receiving inspections (MRI/MRR) for E&I/ATEX equipment to confirm certification, datasheets, and conformity with project specifications.
  • Monitor and clear punch lists, and coordinate with construction, MC/PC, and engineering teams.
  • Verify vendor documents, certificates, and ensure compliance with ATEX/IECEx requirements.
  • Prepare daily reports for MC/PC and ATEX final documentation.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • High school diploma or degree in relevant field of study
  • 5+ years of Quality Control or discipline-related experience with a degree and 8+ with a diploma
  • Proficient in the use of computer and Microsoft programs
