Purchasing Specialist / Manager (Mandarin Speaker)

Role Description The Purchasing Specialist / Manager (Mandarin Speaker) is a full-time, on-site role based in Karawang. This position is responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, including sourcing suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, negotiating pricing and contract terms, and issuing purchase orders in line with company policies. The role involves coordinating with internal departments to understand procurement requirements, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining accurate purchasing records and reports. The individual will communicate with Mandarin-speaking suppliers and partners, handle documentation in both English and Mandarin, monitor vendor performance, and support cost optimization and compliance with quality and safety standards. The role may also involve participating in supplier audits, contributing to process improvements, and supporting strategic purchasing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong procurement and supply chain skills, including vendor sourcing, price negotiation, contract management, and purchase order processing.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders and handle documentation in both languages.
• Solid analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple purchasing requests, track delivery schedules, and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency in using ERP or purchasing systems and standard office software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to support reporting and data analysis.
• Knowledge of basic financial and cost-control principles related to purchasing, including budget adherence and cost-saving initiatives.
• Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in procurement or purchasing within manufacturing or heavy equipment industries in Indonesia is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Karawang, maintain high ethical standards, and adhere to company compliance and safety policies.
