Job Purpose
The PR Specialist is responsible for developing and executing public relations and communications strategies to enhance and protect the company's reputation. This role manages media relations, press materials, corporate messaging, and external communications to ensure consistent brand positioning and positive public perception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement public relations strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, journalists, industry stakeholders, and external partners.
- Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media statements, Q&A documents, speeches, and other communication materials.
- Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and public-facing events.
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, and prepare regular media monitoring reports.
- Support crisis communication planning and execution, including preparing holding statements and key messages.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, legal, compliance, business development, and leadership to ensure aligned messaging.
- Identify opportunities for proactive media exposure, thought leadership, and corporate storytelling.
- Manage external PR agencies or vendors when applicable.
- Ensure all external communications are accurate, timely, and aligned with corporate brand and communication guidelines.
- Assist in preparing communication materials for corporate announcements, partnerships, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, or a similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong media network and experience working with journalists and media outlets preferred.
- Ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally for different audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in crisis communications is an advantage.
