ROLE PURPOSE
The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of the EFB pellet plant project, from engineering coordination, construction, and installation through to commissioning and handover to operations.
This role ensures the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, safety, and contractual requirements, acting as the single point of accountability during the project phase.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Project Planning & Execution
1. Develop and manage the overall project plan, including:
• Scope
• Schedule
• S-Curve
• Milestones
• Deliverables
2. Ensure alignment with technical design, capacity targets, and process requirements
3. Coordinate with mechanical contractor, civil contractor, palm oil mill representative, Project Owner, and other relevant third parties to ensure battery limits and deliveries
4. Track progress against timeline and proactively take corrective action when needed
Engineering & Technical Coordination
1. Coordinate with contractors and engineering teams on:
• Plant layout and plot plan
• Equipment specifications
• Design drawings
2. Ensure all systems are correctly designed and installed:
• Weighbridge section
• Shredding section
• Leaching section
• Drying section
• Crushing section
• Pelleting section
• Cooling and packing section
• Storage and warehouse
3. Review and approve technical drawings/documents and shop drawings
4. Perform necessary on-site calculations (i.e., lifting equipment, material volume, etc.)
5. Provide technical or engineering input or calculation when required
Construction Management
1. Supervise all on-site construction activities:
• Civil and structure works
• Mechanical and electrical works
• Plumbing works
• Building and architectural works
2. Ensure construction is executed according to approved drawings and standards
3. Monitor contractor performance, manpower, delivery time, and work quality
4. Coordinate delivery of:
• Main equipment
• Supporting equipment
5. Ensure timely delivery of materials to site
6. Ensure sufficient resources are available to perform the works
7. Coordinate with local authorities as required to ensure compliance with regulations, local laws, and/or local tribal laws
8. Resolve site issues and technical conflicts promptly
Commissioning & Start-Up
1. Develop and execute commissioning plan:
• Mechanical completion checks
• Dry and wet commissioning
• Performance testing
2. Ensure all systems operate as per design:
• Leaching water temperature and flow
• Leaching wastewater flow
• Dryer temperature and airflow
• Overall production performance
• Throughput and quality targets
3. Troubleshoot operational issues during start-up
4. Prepare testing and commissioning report
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
1. Ensure all construction and commissioning activities comply with HSE standards
2. Enforce contractor safety compliance on-site
3. Oversee incident investigations
Quality Management
1. Develop and implement quality management plan
2. Oversee product/service quality of contractors, subcontractors, or vendors
3. Develop non-conformance reports as required
4. Ensure that all works performed in accordance with quality guidelines
Reporting & Communication
1. Provide regular updates to Senior Management:
• Progress vs scheduled
• Key risks and mitigation plans
2. Maintain clear documentation of project status and decisions
Risk Management
1. Identify project risks (technical, schedule, cost) and notify promptly to Senior Management
2. Develop mitigation strategies
3. Manage change orders and scope variations and prepare necessary documents to be proposed to Senior Management
Contract & Stakeholder Management
1. Manage contractors and subcontractors
2. Ensure compliance with scope, timeline, and deliverables
3. Liaise with:
• Government authorities
• Inspectors
• External consultants
Handover to Operations
1. Coordinate smooth transition to Plant Manager and operations team
2. Ensure:
• SOPs are in place
• Operators are trained
• Equipment is fully functional
3. Deliver final documentation:
• As-built drawings
• Manuals
• Commissioning reports
4. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors (as required) for the required handover documents
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
1. Bachelor's degree or vocational diploma in any field or equivalent work experience.
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
4. Proficient in verbal and written Indonesian and basic English.
5. Exceptional client service skills.
6. Ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team
7. Good communication skills.
8. Detail-oriented and organized.
9. Ability to follow instructions
