We are looking for a competent Project Engineer Maritime with solid technical expertise and prior experience as a Project Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating maritime engineering projects, including shipbuilding, conversion, and newbuilding. This role demands strong project management skills and a deep understanding of marine systems and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the technical execution of new shipbuidling, repair, conversion, and retrofit projects.
- Supervise dry-docking operations and coordinate with shipyards, contractors, and classification societies.
- Conduct inspections, analyze vessel conditions, and recommend engineering solutions.
- Review and prepare technical documentation, including repair specs, drawings, and progress reports.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Ensure full compliance with international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL) and class rules.
- Serve as the main technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Support procurement and evaluation of materials and equipment.
- Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant project engineer experience, in shipbuilding, repair, or maintenance.
- Strong understanding of ship structures, propulsion systems, machinery, and safety systems.
- Proven ability to manage projects from planning to execution under tight timelines.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and marine engineering software tools.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, including shipyards and vessels.
- Able to speak and write in English.
