About the Role

FLOOK is looking for an experienced Production Manager with strong experience in knitting and crochet production to lead and develop our production department in Bali.

This is a management and leadership role, not simply a production coordination position. The successful candidate will take ownership of the production department, working closely with senior management to build stronger systems, processes and ways of working as FLOOK continues to grow.

We are looking for someone who can help take our production operation to the next level of professionalism, structure and scalability. You will be expected to assess how we currently operate, identify areas for improvement, implement better systems and processes, and create greater visibility, accountability and efficiency across the department.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing the full production process, from sampling and development through to bulk production, quality control and final delivery. You will work closely with the Design and Operations teams, as well as local and international suppliers, to ensure production is delivered on time, to the required quality and within agreed costs.

Most importantly, you will be a solutions-oriented leader who takes responsibility for finding solutions rather than simply reporting problems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end production process for knit and crochet products
Plan production schedules, timelines and delivery dates
Manage sampling, development and bulk production
Coordinate with factories and suppliers
Source and manage yarns, materials, trims and other production requirements
Monitor production progress and ensure deadlines are achieved
Conduct and coordinate quality control throughout production
Identify and resolve production, quality and material issues
Manage production costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Monitor material usage, wastage and production yields
Ensure products are produced according to approved designs, measurements and specifications
Work closely with the Design team to translate designs into production
Develop strong relationships with suppliers and production partners
Maintain accurate production records, costing and production reports
Identify potential delays and production risks early and communicate them proactively
Support the development and management of international production, including China suppliers
Manage and develop the production team in Bali

Knitting & Crochet Experience

Strong knowledge of knitting and crochet production is essential.

The successful candidate should understand:

Different knitting and crochet techniques and construction methods
Yarn types, composition and suitability for different products
Knit and crochet sampling and development
Gauge, measurements and sizing
Stitch and pattern development
Production specifications and technical requirements
Common production and quality issues in knit and crochet garments
Yarn consumption and production costing
Finishing, washing and other post-production processes
Quality control for knit and crochet products

Requirements

3+ years of experience in production management, preferably within fashion, apparel or textiles
Strong hands-on experience with knitting and crochet production
Good understanding of garment construction and production processes
Experience working with factories, suppliers and production teams
Strong production planning and organisational skills
Good understanding of costing and material management
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple styles and production deadlines simultaneously
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Good English communication skills
Willingness to travel to suppliers/factories when required
Experience with China production or international suppliers would be an advantage
