Job Title: Product Owner (Banking / Agile Delivery)

Location: Malaysia

Experience: 4 – 8 years (C2 / C3A level)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Product Owner to lead product delivery within a dynamic banking environment. This role is responsible for defining product vision, managing the product backlog, and delivering high-quality, customer-centric solutions through Agile methodologies.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technology partners to ensure successful delivery of enterprise-scale initiatives while driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define, communicate, and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap aligned with business and Hive objectives
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring well-defined and refined user stories
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align business goals and technology delivery
  • Lead Agile squads to deliver impactful features balancing quality, speed, and business value
  • Ensure squads understand the purpose, goals, and strategic direction of the product
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Retrospectives, etc.)
  • Drive continuous improvement and adoption of Agile best practices (DoR, DoD)
  • Identify and mitigate risks, remove blockers, and improve delivery efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks relevant to banking operations
  • Champion a customer-centric approach in all product decisions
  • May act as a Chapter Lead, driving capability development across Product Owners
Required Skills & ExperienceMust-Have
  • 4–8 years of experience in Product Ownership / Product Management / similar role
  • Experience in banking product delivery using Agile frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Tech Debt management
  • Software Product Delivery
  • Enterprise Change Delivery
  • Proven experience working in global or diverse organizations (8+ years overall exposure preferred)
  • Hands-on experience leading 1–2 initiatives or squads
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
  • Experience in:
  • Identifying skill gaps and delivery risks
  • Industry benchmarking for technical capabilities
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Leadership ability to influence teams and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment
Good to Have
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes and enterprise delivery models
  • Experience with product tools and techniques:
  • User Story Mapping
  • Personas
  • MVP definition
  • Product Roadmapping
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in banking
Certifications (Preferred)
  • PSPO I / PSPO II
  • CSPO
  • Other Agile / Product Management certifications
