Job Description

Work location: Jakarta Pusat - Indonesia

As the Manager, you will serve as the market authority, with your expertise playing a pivotal role in driving the company's growth trajectory. In this role, you will have the autonomy to analyse competitive trends, formulate data-driven commercial recommendations, and shape pricing strategies that maximize trade and performance. By collaborating with the regional procurement team, you will spearhead the introduction of innovative products, ensuring DP World remains at the forefront of the industry.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement country-level sea freight pricing strategies aligned with commercial objectives and market dynamics.
  • Design, govern, and continuously optimize Tender Net Rates (TNR) to ensure competitive positioning and profitability across trade lanes.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor pricing, and trade lane performance to provide actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Manage end-to-end rate governance, ensuring accuracy, timely updates, and availability for internal sales and global stakeholders.
  • Evaluate, challenge, and validate rate submissions from overseas offices to ensure commercial viability and alignment with market benchmarks.
  • Identify optimal vessel routing solutions to support efficient carrier selection and trade lane performance.
  • Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with ocean carriers and co-loaders to secure capacity, competitive pricing, and service reliability.
  • Partner with Contracts and Tender teams to support RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, ensuring profitable business acquisition and sustainable growth.
  • Drive short-term pricing opportunities in collaboration with Procurement by managing spot rate requests and market-driven pricing initiatives.
  • Lead trade lane performance improvement initiatives focused on volume growth, revenue enhancement, and margin optimization.
  • Act as a key liaison between product, sales, marketing, and trade lane stakeholders to ensure alignment of pricing strategies and market execution.
  • Produce monthly Nonstandard Administration Reports (NAR) and deliver insights on market trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Facilitate regular engagement with key trade lanes and international stakeholders to ensure alignment on pricing strategy and market developments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in ocean freight within the freight forwarding industry.
  • At least 5 years of commercial experience, preferably in pricing, procurement, or global/regional tenders.
  • Familiar with US contract negotiation frameworks and international commercial contracting practices.
  • Strong understanding of shipping line operations, trade lanes, and freight pricing structures.
  • Proven experience in carrier negotiation, rate management, and commercial decision support.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel-based pricing models and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Customer-focused, collaborative, and able to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
