Our client is a global leader in materials science, pressure-sensitive technology, and innovative self-adhesive solutions for consumer products and labels, with a specialized focus on apparel, footwear, and retail industries. In Indonesia, they support a diverse range of customers in the apparel, footwear, home textiles, and sports goods sectors, while their manufacturing sites in Cikarang and Semarang, serve as strategic hubs to meet the needs of exporters across the country.

Job Role:

The Procurement Manager is a hands-on leadership role with strategic accountability for ensuring operational excellence and people development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while acting as Procurement Leader from the site in Cikarang.

The person will be responsible for creating and managing a regional strategy and team operating plan, while shaping long-term improvements in efficiency, cost management, and supplier relationships. Success in this role requires both strong technical grounding and the ability to influence and align teams with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Development & Management

  • Train and provide development opportunities for staff, ensuring annual goals are complete, communicated, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure the Global Performance Management System is up to date and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate team members, adjusting training where needed to attract, retain, and develop high-potential talent.
  • Model and promote the Corporation's Code of Business Ethics and Values while performing general management duties.

Operations & Strategic Planning

  • Directly supervise employees at the site, monitoring work and altering schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Design and implement procurement and operations improvement strategies for cost, quality, inventory, and services. Process Optimization & Improvement
  • Analyze and draw information for daily operational needs and provide prompt problem-solving for key issues.
  • Coordinate team efforts to create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.

Process Optimization & Improvement

  • Lead site-wide continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Efficiency frameworks (e.g., ELS).
  • Identify and implement automation, standardization, and productivity solutions to improve OEE and reduce waste.
  • Champion best practices across shifts and teams, ensuring consistency and sustainability of improvements.

Process Optimization & Compliance

  • Maintain quality control processes to ensure products and services meet quality standards.
  • Lead 5S activities, housekeeping, and recycling programs while adhering to strict health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other functional areas to resolve problems, reduce manufacturing waste, and decrease process complexity.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field, such as Engineering or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Experience at least 8 years of experience in Procurement roles, specifically within the Manufacturing industries, including 3+ years of operational leadership experience within multinational business in recent roles.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or ELS Operating Principles.
  • Familiarity with labels, packaging, adhesives, or garment, or apparel manufacturing, or having experience working within the following industries: Apparel & Footwear Components, Labels & Packaging, Chemicals & Adhesives, FMCG Manufacturing, Intelligent Labeling or RFID
  • English (professional business level - able to communicate with regional/global teams and expatriate leadership).
  • Skilled in scheduling, planning, budgeting, and financial control.
  • Lean Operations: Strong grounding in continuous improvement frameworks and the ability to connect operational performance to financial outcomes.
  • Personal Quality: Strong ability to manage, coach, and develop a diverse team; ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, and take decisive action.
