Role Summary:
A Procurement Executive for a Data Center manages the strategic sourcing, purchasing, and negotiation of critical facility infrastructure (power, cooling, real estate), IT hardware (servers, storage, networking), and services (maintenance, construction) to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery for the data center's operations, requiring strong vendor management, risk assessment, and technical understanding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Identifying and vetting suppliers for, power systems (UPS, generators) hardware (servers, storage), software, HVAC, and construction maintenance operation services.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiates and managing end-to-end RFP (Request for Proposal) and tender processes. Securing favourable terms, pricing, and long-term contracts for large-scale procurements.
- Supplier Management: Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance.
- Cost & Risk Management: Analyzing market trends, managing budgets, identifying savings, and mitigating supply chain risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with technical, construction, finance, operations, and legal teams.
- Data & Reporting: Maintaining procurement data, tracking spend, and reporting on savings and performance.
Qualification and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical), Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
- Require 3+ years of procurement experience, experience in the data center infrastructure, construction, and mission-critical environments, telecommunications, or EPC industries will be advantageous.
- Strong background in supply chain, procurement, or engineering.
- Experience with operation expenditure (OPEX) procurement and project management.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and a deep understanding of economics and technical standards.
- Strong commercial acumen, cross-regional collaboration skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure project timelines.
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
