Job Description

Dear All

Greetings

Job Purpose

The Process Engineer is tasked with anchoring, designing, and optimizing engineering baselines inside the machine shop. The primary focus is to author and deploy robust Process Control Plans and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA) to mitigate production risks. Crucially, this individual serves as the front-line engineering responded to address shop-floor quality issues—owning the immediate identification of operational anomalies, formulating strategic Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and systematically tracking their physical execution on the floor to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle times.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Professional Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years within an active production machine shop (experience with HMC, VMC, or Multi-Axis cells is highly regarded).

Core Tool Expertise: Demonstrable understanding of Quality Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA).

Floor Management: Verified ability to diagnose floor quality incidents, lead practical root cause investigations, and carry out physical step-by-step changes.

Interpersonal Skills: Clear technical articulation with the collaborative agility required to work efficiently with programmers, floor technicians, and department leads.

Software's : Solid-works , Solid-cam , Vericut as an added advantage

Requirements

Core Roles & Responsibilities

Core Engineering Tools & Quality Ownership

  • Control Plan Architecture: Lead the creation, review, deployment, and live maintenance of comprehensive manufacturing Control Plans to safeguard part specifications on the floor.
  • Risk Mitigation (PFMEA): Develop and maintain detailed Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA) to systematically predict, quantify, and design-out manufacturing and setup risks.
  • Shop-floor Quality Resolution: Actively drive containment and systemic investigation into acute and chronic shop-floor quality deviations, ensuring direct resolution at the machine interface.
  • CAPA Ownership: Draft, launch, and validate detailed Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and 8D reporting modules following production faults or engineering failures.
  • Floor Implementation: Co-ordinate directly with floor supervisors and production teams to handle the physical implementation of engineering improvements, ensuring new actions are validated and locked.

Standardization & Documentation Basics

  • SOP Formulation: Draft, compile, and publish shop-floor-ready Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) across all machine shop operations and equipment stations.
  • Process Sheet Management: Construct and consistently update detailed Process Sheets complete with engineering changes, tool settings, and manufacturing parameters.
  • QMS Alignment: Maintain thorough, audit-ready data tracking systems aligned with Global Quality Management System (QMS) policies.

Continuous Improvement & CFT Synergies

  • CFT Interfacing: Actively collaborate as a central member of the Cross-Functional Team (CFT) to evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and minimize downtime.
  • Kaizen & Optimization: Propose, design, and run Kaizen projects and localized Quality Control (QC) circles specifically targeting cycle time reductions and waste elimination.
  • 5S Discipline: Oversee and audit local work areas to sustain an internal audit 5S target score exceeding 4 out of 5.
