WIRA'S PLAYROOM
A Safe Space to Grow, A Trusted Place to Thrive.
WIRA'S PLAYROOM
Wira's Playroom is an inclusive learning space where children grow with joy, dignity, and acceptance—supported holistically to become confident learners and individuals. We include: • Special Needs School • Therapy Center • Early Intervention Program & Kindergarten to Primary 6.
We are seeking a visionary, highly collaborative, and seasoned Principal / Head of School to lead our entire institution and drive its long-term strategic growth.
Role Description
The Principal/Head of School serves as the institutional leader, positioned above the three core organizational pillars. Reporting directly to the Foundation's Board, you will build and maintain the school's strategy, standards, people decisions, financial sustainability, and safeguarding protocols. Rather than managing day-to-day vertical operations, you will lead strategically through three direct reports: the Clinical & Therapy Lead, the Education Lead, and the Operations Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Vision & Strategy: Own the school's vision, values, and strategic direction. Set annual performance goals across all three pillars to ensure a unified, cohesive institution.
- Senior Leadership Rhythm: Supervise, develop, and hold the three pillar leads accountable. Establish and run senior leadership rhythms, meetings, and institutional priorities.
- Academic & Clinical Oversight: Hold overall accountability for student outcomes, teaching quality, and therapy standards through your specialized leads, ensuring high performance without micromanaging daily delivery.
- Culture, Induction & Training: Lead whole-school onboarding and institutional training focused on corporate values, culture, conduct, safeguarding, and operational procedures.
- Stakeholder Management & Escalation: Serve as the primary external face of the school to parents, regulators, and the community. Sit at the apex of the escalation line to handle the most critical institutional issues and determine board-level notifications.
- Governance, Finance & Safeguarding: Secure child safeguarding protocols, maintain ultimate regulatory/legal compliance, approve budgets, and guide the school's overall financial health and sustainability alongside the Operation Lead.
- Emergency Operational Support: Provide short-term classroom cover or supervision within your own competence during genuine emergencies to maintain safety and routine. (Does not replace credentialed clinical therapy delivery).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, School Administration, or a highly relevant leadership discipline.
- Experience: Proven track record of progressive executive leadership as a Principal, Head of School, or Senior Director within special education, inclusive schools, international curriculum schools, or pediatric developmental networks.
- Core Competencies: Strong grasp of school operations, institutional compliance, financial management, performance accountability systems, and international child safeguarding standards.
- Language: Fluent in speaking English and excellent professional communication in Bahasa Indonesia.
- Soft Skills: High-level strategic thinking, exceptional emotional intelligence, seasoned conflict resolution capability, absolute discretion, and a values-driven leadership style.
