Company Description JMC Sakamoto Green Lake is a specialized mathematics tuition center that employs the Sakamoto Method, an innovative problem-solving approach developed in Japan. The center focuses on helping primary-level learners build strong foundations in arithmetic and logical reasoning through structured, step-by-step techniques. Teaching materials and lessons are designed to make mathematics accessible, engaging, and confidence-building for students. JMC Sakamoto Green Lake provides a supportive environment for educators who are passionate about math education and evidence-based teaching methods.

Role Description The Primary Mathematics Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Tangerang. This role involves planning and delivering engaging mathematics lessons using the Sakamoto Method for primary school students, ensuring concepts are clearly explained and understood. Daily tasks include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials, guiding students through problem-solving exercises, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback. The teacher is also responsible for maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment, communicating with parents or guardians about student development, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance curriculum and teaching practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Mathematics Education/Mathematics or related field)
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written
  • Strong proficiency in Mathematics and a solid understanding of Mathematics Education principles.
  • Ability to apply structured problem-solving methods, ideally with familiarity or willingness to learn the Sakamoto Method.
  • Effective classroom management, clear communication skills, and the ability to support diverse learning needs.
  • Prior experience teaching primary students in a tuition center or school setting is an advantage; fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration within a teaching team.
  • Willing to work on-site (Monday–Saturday)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel & Google Drive
  • Willing to commit for at least 2 years
  • Living in Tangerang or West Jakarta is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach mathematics according to the Sakamoto Method
  • Guide students in developing mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Monitor and evaluate students learning progress
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff
  • Maintain accurate student attendance and learning progress records
  • Participate in weekly/monthly meetings, training sessions, and other academic activities
