Little Explorers is a UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) preschool in Medan, Indonesia, serving children aged 18 months to 5 years. We are dedicated to providing a play-based, child-centered learning environment where young learners develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually in their native language while being exposed to high-quality English communication.

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our growing team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, play-based early childhood education, support children's holistic development, and build strong relationships with families within our diverse Medan community.

This is a full-time position working with children aged 18 months to 5 years across our Toddler, Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Pre-Reception classes.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Teaching

• Plan and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities using the EYFS framework across all seven areas of learning
• Use observations of individual children to inform teaching and assess progress toward Early Learning Goals (ELGs)
• Create a language-rich environment that supports both Indonesian and English language development
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all children, including those with additional support needs
• Maintain accurate, ongoing records of children's development using school assessment systems

Classroom Management & Safeguarding

• Establish routines and positive behavior expectations in a warm, inclusive classroom
• Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organized learning environment
• Follow all safeguarding and child protection policiea
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children and familiea
• Support smooth transitions and emotional well-being during arrival, departure, and throughout the day

Parent & Family Engagement

• Communicate regularly with parents
• Share children's learning progress and celebrate mileston
• Welcome family involvement in classroom activities
• Be responsive to family concerns and work collaboratively on shared learning goals

Professional Development & Teamwork

• Collaborate with co-teachers, school leadership, and support staff
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development
• Contribute ideas to curriculum planning and school improvement
• Model best practices in EYFS pedagogy and play-based learning
• Stay updated on early childhood research and local/international early education trends

Administrative Tasks

• Complete daily/weekly planning documentation
• Maintain organized classroom records and materials
• Attend to basic administrative duties as neeeds

• Education: Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, PAUD (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini), or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience: 1–3 years working in an early childhood classroom (Toddler, Preschool, or Kindergarten level).
• English Proficiency: Fluent spoken and written English.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of EYFS principles, play-based learning, and child development (0–5 years).
• Skills:
• Excellent classroom management and behavior guidance.
• Strong communication with children, families, and colleagues.
• Creativity and enthusiasm for hands-on, experiential learning.
• Patience, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
• Basic literacy and numeracy to model and teach foundational skills.
