About the role
This role is for one of our entities in Batam, PT Indo Kreasi Grafika (IKG). Must lead and refine pre-press workflows including file checks, trapping, imposition, CTP calibration, proofing workflows, and RIP settings. Ensure colour consistency across multiple presses using colour standards (Fogra, G7, ISO 12647-2). Establish colour profiles for different substrates (paper, synthetic, films) and printing technologies (offset, Flexo, rotogravure, digital).
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and refine pre-press workflows including file checks, trapping, imposition, CTP calibration, proofing workflows, and RIP settings
- Ensure colour consistency across multiple presses using colour standards (Fogra, G7, ISO 12647-2)
- Establish colour profiles for different substrates (paper, synthetic, films) and printing technologies (offset, Flexo, rotogravure, digital)
- Conduct fingerprinting, press characterisation, and maintain colour quality documentation
- Provide technical leadership in resolving print issues (dot gain, mis-registration, ghosting, colour variation, ink adhesion, trapping issues)
- Collaborate with production to reduce makeready time, enhance press stability, and improve OEE
- Lead NPI feasibility studies: printability assessments, substrate trials, ink compatibility testing
- Develop print specification documents including die-lines, colour standards, print sequence, finishing requirements
- Evaluate, develop, and qualify new suppliers for inks, plates, blankets, cylinders, substrates, coatings
- Lead Lean/CI projects to reduce waste (ink waste, plate remake, non-conformance, machine downtime)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years experience as Development Manager, preferably in similar industry
- Knowledge in Paper packaging, understand the process of NPI and development, packaging and understand the product concept
- Good English communication
- Good planning and problem-solving skills with proven track record in achieving results through or with other team members
- Technical skills as plus factor: Photoshop, Illustrators, Adobe Acrobat professional & Pitstop, Corel Draw, InDesign, Colour Management
