Position Summary
Owns plant engineering, reliability, and projects (CAPEX and major maintenance), ensuring high equipment availability, technical integrity, and safe, compliant operation of all plant assets in a lubricant and grease manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and maintenance function for blending systems, filling/packaging lines, utilities, tank farm, and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and extend asset life.
- Plan and execute engineering projects: expansions, debottlenecking, new lines, equipment upgrades, and automation improvements.
- Define and maintain engineering standards, technical specifications, and equipment documentation for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements for pressure vessels, boilers, electrical systems, fire protection, and environmental controls.
- Manage maintenance budget, spare parts strategy, and contractor performance; optimize cost vs. reliability.
- Drive root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and reliability improvements for chronic issues affecting production, quality, or safety.
- Support process safety management (PSM), risk assessments, HAZOPs, and management of change (MOC) for plant modifications.
- Collaborate with Operations, HSE, and Quality to improve equipment design for safety, ergonomics, and contamination control (oil, grease, dust).
- Coach and develop engineering and maintenance team, ensuring technical competency and multi-skilling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering discipline.
- 812+ years experience in process/chemical or lubricant manufacturing, with strong exposure to maintenance and projects.
- Solid understanding of pumps, mixers, agitators, tanks, transfer systems, filling and packaging equipment, utilities, and basic automation (PLC/SCADA).
- Experience with reliability tools and methodologies (RCM, RCA), CMMS, and maintenance planning.
