Job Description
Production Costing & Cost Planning
- Develop, maintain, and update standard costs per product (materials, direct labor, and factory overhead).
- Collaborate with Plant/Workshop team to prepare production cost budgets (direct materials, direct labor, overhead).
- Perform variance analysis between actual vs standard/budget (material usage variance, price variance, labor efficiency, overhead absorption).
- Provide improvement recommendations based on cost analysis to increase efficiency and reduce cost per unit.
Inventory Accounting & Valuation (Plant, Warehouse & Hub)
- Manage accounting records for inventories (raw materials, WIP, finished goods, spare parts) at plant, central warehouse, and hubs in accordance with accounting policies and applicable standards (IFRS/Local GAAP).
- Ensure inventory valuation methods (e.g., FIFO, Weighted Average) are applied consistently in the system.
- Perform periodic reconciliation between system stock, production reports, hub/warehouse reports, and General Ledger (GL).
- Calculate and monitor inventory provisions (slow-moving, obsolete, damaged) together with Warehouse, Hub Operations, Procurement, and Warehouse Internal Control teams.
Stock Control, Stock Take & Shrinkage (Warehouse, Hub & Retail)
- Work with Warehouse/Plant, Hub Operations, and Warehouse Internal Control teams to plan and supervise periodic stock takes (cycle counts and full counts) at plant, central warehouse, and hubs.
- Coordinate with Retail Internal Control (Audit) on store-level stock count results, shrinkage, and control issues that impact plant, hub, and central warehouse inventory.
- Analyze variances between stock take results and system records across plant, warehouse, hubs, and stores; identify root causes and prepare preventive action plans.
- Ensure all inventory movements (inbound, inter-location transfers between plantwarehousehubstore, adjustments, scrap) have complete supporting documents and are recorded in a timely manner.
COGS, Margin & Financial Reporting
- Prepare Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations for each period accurately and on time.
- Prepare production and distribution cost reports per plant/warehouse/hub (cost per unit, cost per project/job, cost by category).
- Collaborate closely with the Retail Controller to align costing and inventory data (including hub and warehouse stock) with retail margin analysis, pricing decisions, and store performance review.
- Provide margin analysis together with Finance/Commercial and Retail Controller teams, including the impact of changes in raw material prices, labor rates, production capacity, stock movement through hubs, and inventory losses.
- Support month-end closing process for production and inventory-related accounts (accruals, adjustments, reclassifications).
Compliance, SOP, & Audit
- Ensure costing and inventory recording processes follow internal SOPs, company policies, and applicable accounting standards.
- Participate in drafting and updating SOPs related to production processes, material usage, stock control, hub operations, and store inventory handling.
- Act as key contact for internal and external audits, working closely with Retail Internal Control (Audit) and Warehouse Internal Control on audit findings related to inventory and COGS across plant, warehouse, hubs, and stores.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance data accuracy, speed up closing, and reduce manual work.
- Collaborate with Tech/IT team to develop and improve systems (ERP, WMS, hub/logistics systems, or production systems) related to costing and inventory modules.
- Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards (e.g., inventory days, scrap ratio, variance vs budget, stock accuracy, stock loss/shrinkage by plant/warehouse/hub/store) as management control tools, in coordination with the Retail Controller and control teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance / Management or related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in Cost Accounting / Inventory Accounting / Plant or Warehouse Accounting, preferably in manufacturing, furniture, FMCG, or similar industries.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, COGS, and basic management accounting concepts.
- Familiar with ERP / accounting systems (e.g., Xero, SAP, Netsuite, or similar).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets at intermediateadvanced level (lookup, pivot, analytical formulas).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong integrity in handling financial data.
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams: Plant/Workshop, Warehouse, Hub Operations, Procurement, Finance, Commercial, Retail Controller, Warehouse Internal Control, and Retail Internal Control (Audit).
