POSITION INTRODUCTORY:
Plays a key role in ensuring production and shipment plans align with customer demand and delivery timelines. This role is responsible for developing and executing detailed production schedules, coordinating shipment arrangements in line with customer-required dates, and proactively addressing potential disruptions.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare detailed daily and weekly production schedules based on sales orders, forecasts, and available capacity.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure plan execution and monitor output.
- Adjust production plans based on actual output, machine downtime, or material availability.
- Ensure minimal production disruptions through proactive planning and coordination.
Material Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Review and execute MRP to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
- Collaborate with the procurement and warehouse teams to monitor incoming materials and inventory levels.
- Flag and follow up on material shortages or delayed deliveries to prevent production stoppages.
Inventory Monitoring
- Track raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels.
- Help maintain optimal stock levels to balance production continuity and storage costs.
- Assist in identifying and reducing slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
Cross-Department Coordination
- Liaise with Production, Procurement, Quality, and Logistics to ensure planning alignment.
- Communicate production status and any changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Escalate delays or constraints that may affect delivery commitments.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning reports (e.g., schedule adherence, material availability, production output).
- Support Planning Manager with data analysis for decision-making and capacity review.
- Track and report key planning KPIs.
Process Support & Documentation
- Support implementation of planning best practices, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and updated planning documentation, including work instructions and planning logs.
- Participate in internal audits or external compliance reviews as needed.
Project Support
- Assist in planning activities for new product launches, engineering changes, or promotional production runs.
- Coordinate planning inputs for special production campaigns or seasonal volumes.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Production Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fast-paced or high-mix production settings is an advantage.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, JIT, or Kanban is a plus.
- Strong understanding of production and material planning principles (MPS, MRP).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Strong attention to detail and planning accuracy.
- Effective communicator with coordination and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
