Job Description

About Us

Kitar is a Singapore-registered Series A startup building a trusted recommerce platform in Southeast Asia. Through our consumer-facing app, we enable users to recycle and purchase certified pre-owned smartphones—making technology more affordable while supporting sustainability and reducing electronic waste.

As we continue to grow in Indonesia, we are looking for a Phone Reinspection Intern to support our smartphone inspection and quality control process. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about technology, electronics, and hands-on technical work, and are eager to build a career in smartphone diagnostics and repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed inspections of pre-owned smartphones collected through Kitar's operations.
  • Test key device functions, including the screen, battery, camera, Face ID/Touch ID, speakers, microphones, charging, network connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
  • Record inspection results and identify any overlooked issues.
  • Assist technicians with diagnostics, device disassembly, basic repairs, and reassembly.
  • Conduct quality checks before devices are listed for sale.
  • Learn and apply basic repair techniques, including battery and screen replacement, as well as minor component repairs.
  • Develop advanced technical skills and take on more specialized repair responsibilities over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates and early-career professionals are welcome to apply.
  • Strong interest in smartphones, electronics, diagnostics, or repair.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and eager to learn.
  • Comfortable with hands-on technical work and following standard procedures.
  • Experience in phone repair, electronics repair, device testing, soldering, or related technical work is a plus.
  • Basic English proficiency is preferred.

What We Offer

  • Hands-on training from experienced smartphone repair technicians.
  • Practical experience working with real devices and repair processes.
  • Clear career progression from Inspection Trainee to Repair Technician.
  • Opportunities to develop technical repair and diagnostics skills.
  • Career growth in a fast-growing technology startup.
  • The chance to contribute to sustainability through smartphone reuse and recycling.
