Job Description

MANAGER PERMITTING

(National - Site Based)

Some of your duties will include:

To lead and manage the process of acquiring and renewing necessary permits, licenses, and approvals, ensuring compliance with Indonesian laws and regulations, and acting as the primary liaison with government bodies and officials.

  • Lead the process for obtaining and renewing permits, licenses, and approvals necessary for our projects and operations in Indonesia.
  • Ensure all operations comply with Indonesian laws and regulations, reducing the risk of legal issues that may impede business continuity.
  • Act as the primary contact with government officials, agencies, and regulators, managing all correspondences regarding permitting and regulatory matters.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local, regional, and national government bodies.
  • Advise the company's management on the regulatory environment, anticipating changes in legislation and planning accordingly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Provide strategic direction for navigating bureaucratic processes efficiently, considering both time and cost implications.
  • Work closely with other departments, including legal, environmental, and project management teams, ensuring alignment in compliance efforts and timely execution of projects.
  • Prepare and present reports on permitting statuses, challenges, and recommendations to senior management and relevant departments.
  • Supervise and train team members on permitting procedures, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Foster a proactive work culture, emphasizing accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the permitting process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills and experience do you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Have 15+ years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or a similar roe within Indonesia, preferably in the mining industry sector. In depth understanding of Indonesian bureaucratic processes and government regulations related to the mining industry.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across various levels of government and corporate hierarchies.
  • Proven problem solving Skills and strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Have middle level operational inspector certificate (POM) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.
