About the Role
As a PDI Manager, you will report to the Head of PDI at ALCO and work closely with the HQ Team. You will lead product development, continuous improvement, and cost optimization initiatives across our manufacturing operations. The role involves driving material and process improvement projects, qualifying new materials and machinery, collaborating with suppliers, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within cost, and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Development, to support the successful development and commercialization of new products and the improvement of existing manufacturing processes. The role will support projects across cigarette manufacturing operations in Indonesia and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development, continuous improvement, and cost-saving projects from planning through implementation.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and documentation using ClickUp.
- Coordinate material trials, evaluate trial results, and support the qualification of new materials and suppliers.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Sourcing teams to identify and develop suitable suppliers, while achieving competitive pricing and lead times.
- Review and validate material specifications, pricing, and supplier proposals for new product and improvement projects.
- Monitor material readiness and delivery schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and in full.
- Work closely with cross-functional and international stakeholders to drive project execution and resolve issues effectively.
- Maintain product master data and support implementation in SAP/NAV and other relevant systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements, and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, efficiency, and overall business performance.
- Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and provide hands-on support as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Product Development, Process Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience in the tobacco industry is highly preferred.
- Experience in supplier management, material qualification, product development, or continuous improvement projects.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, project management, and supplier collaboration.
- Experience with SAP, NAV, or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Fluent in written and spoken English is required.
