The Role
We are looking for an experienced Academic English Teacher to teach students preparing for international university study.
The role focuses on developing the academic English and higher education skills required within international pathway programmes, particularly:
- Academic and essay writing
- Critical reading and comprehension
- Academic speaking and presentation
- Listening and note-taking
- Research and study skills
- Critical thinking and academic communication
You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess student progress, provide constructive academic feedback, and collaborate with our academic team to ensure students are well prepared for English-medium higher education.
Qualifications
- Native-level English proficiency with exceptional spoken and written English
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field
- Experience teaching Academic English, EAP, ESL, or EFL
- Experience preparing students for English-medium university study
- Experience teaching secondary, foundation, pathway, or tertiary-level students is highly desirable
- Strong academic writing and communication skills
- Ability to provide high-quality feedback on students written and spoken English
- Strong lesson planning and classroom management skills
- CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
- International teaching or education experience is an advantage
Ideal Candidate
We are particularly interested in educators with native-level command of English and substantial experience studying, teaching, or working in an English-speaking academic environment.
You should be comfortable supporting students toward the level of academic English, communication, and critical thinking expected in international higher education.
