Job Purpose

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and optimizing packaging systems to ensure product safety, functionality, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This role involves selecting appropriate materials, creating prototypes, and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

• Create innovative packaging designs that protect products and enhance usability.
• Develop prototypes and conduct performance tests (e.g., drop test, compression test).

Material Selection

• Choose suitable packaging materials (plastic, carton, glass, metal) considering cost, durability, and sustainability.

Optimization

• Improve packaging efficiency for production, storage, and transportation.
• Reduce packaging costs without compromising quality.

Compliance

• Ensure packaging meets safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, production, and marketing teams to align packaging with product and brand needs.

Sustainability

• Implement eco-friendly packaging solutions and support company sustainability goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 23 years in packaging design and development (preferably in manufacturing or FMCG).
• Skills:
• Knowledge of packaging materials and machinery.
• Proficiency in CAD software and packaging design tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and sustainability practices.
