We are looking for an experienced Owner Superintendent – Tanker/LNG to represent the Owner's interests and ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially optimized operation of our tanker and LNG fleet. Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the Safety Management System (ISM Code) and Tanker Management and Self Assessment (TMSA) requirements.
- Plan, implement, and monitor the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for assigned vessels.
- Manage the procurement of technical stores, consumables, and equipment while ensuring adequate inventory levels onboard.
- Monitor the availability, utilization, and replenishment of vessel spare parts.
- Supervise vessel delivery and redelivery processes, including bunker and fresh water quantities, and verify all related documentation.
- Monitor cargo loading and unloading operations to ensure safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant execution.
- Track vessel movements and operational performance during voyages.
- Monitor, evaluate, and follow up on Vetting inspection findings to ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct regular vessel visits, inspections, and technical audits.
- Ensure vessel statutory, class, and trading certificates remain valid and compliant.
- Plan and supervise dry-docking, repairs, maintenance, and major technical projects.
- Coordinate with Masters, Chief Engineers, Class, Flag State, shipyards, and vendors to maintain optimal vessel performance.
- Prepare and control technical budgets while optimizing maintenance and repair costs.
- Travel and sail onboard vessels for inspections or operational support as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Class I Marine Engineer Certificate (ATT I).
- At least 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on tanker / LPG / LNG vessels with DWT above 20,000.
- Previous shore-based experience is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of repair, maintenance, and Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
- Well-versed in the latest tanker regulations, ISM Code, TMSA, SOLAS, MARPOL, and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and ability to effectively manage and guide shipboard personnel.
- Experienced in vessel maintenance, technical audits, docking projects, and technical cost control.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to travel and sail onboard vessels for short periods as required.
