Middleware Consultant – Integration Strategy & Platform Assessment (Remote | 8-Week Contract)
We're looking for an experienced Middleware Consultant to lead an enterprise integration strategy and platform assessment engagement for a large-scale enterprise transformation initiative.
This is a fully remote, 8-week contract with an immediate start, ideal for experienced integration architects and middleware specialists with a strong consulting background.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assess the current enterprise integration landscape, including applications, interfaces, data flows, integration patterns, and existing pain points.
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to understand integration requirements, scalability needs, and future-state objectives.
- Define middleware platform requirements, evaluation criteria, and target integration capabilities.
- Conduct market scans and vendor assessments across leading middleware and iPaaS platforms.
- Lead product evaluations, demonstrations, and fit-gap assessments.
- Develop the recommended middleware strategy, target architecture, business case, and implementation roadmap.
- Provide guidance on enterprise integration best practices, governance models, and implementation approaches.
- Ensure recommendations are practical, scalable, and aligned with business objectives by leveraging prior implementation experience.
What We're Looking For
- 7–10 years of experience in enterprise integration, middleware architecture, or integration platform implementation
- Strong experience with one or more leading middleware platforms such as: MuleSoft, Boomi, SAP Integration Suite, Azure Integration Services, IBM Integration, Oracle Integration Cloud or similar enterprise integration technologies
- Strong understanding of: API-led Integration, Event-Driven Architecture, ESB, Messaging, Batch and Real-Time Integration Patterns
- Experience conducting technology assessments, vendor evaluations, and integration roadmap development
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value
Nice to Have
- Experience developing business cases, TCO analyses, and investment roadmaps
- Middleware or integration platform certifications
