Our career opportunities are as diverse as our metals and activities. Below is an offer you can apply for right now.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform daily laboratory analyses on process samples (precipitations, titrations, particle size distributions), strictly following established procedures. Examples: hourly pH and cyanide measurements of leaching tanks, pulp density checks using a Marcy scale;
- Manage samples and laboratory equipment: reception, drying, grinding, calibration, and maintenance of instruments (pH meters, cyanide analyzers, precision balances, etc.);
- Implement internal quality control (QA/QC) in the laboratory through duplicate analyses, use of blanks and reference samples, and maintenance of a discrepancy log. Report any anomalies or critical results to the engineers;
- Support metallurgical testing and reporting: assist with test execution (bottle roll cyanidation, specific sieving), enter analytical data, and contribute to the drafting of daily metallurgical lab reports.
- Technical skills: Strong hands-on knowledge of laboratory instruments (burettes, pH meters, sieves, etc.) and ability to perform analyses with high precision;
- Reliability and attention to detail: Strict adherence to sampling and measurement protocols, with a strong focus on avoiding contamination or handling errors;
- Organization and HSE compliance: Ability to manage analysis priorities while strictly following safety guidelines (cyanide, acids, heat, etc.);
- Communication and IT skills: Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, document incidents or technical observations, and use office software (Excel, Word, email) to enter and share results;
- Quality monitoring: Autonomy in maintaining calibration sheets, drift charts, and other QA/QC tools to ensure the reliability of analytical results.
- Degree: 2- or 3-year technical degree (e.g., Chemistry, Process Engineering, Metallurgy, or equivalent);
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of proven experience in a metallurgical or mining laboratory, with solid command of analytical instruments and strict adherence to procedures.
