Senior Merchant Acquisition Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving the growth of our payment gateway platform by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new merchants. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract high-value merchants, fostering long-term partnerships, and ensuring a seamless integration process. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in B2B sales, a strong understanding of the payments industry, and a proven track record of exceeding acquisition targets.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement merchant acquisition strategies to expand the company's merchant base and increase transaction volume.
• Identify prospective merchants across various industries and conduct outreach through networking, cold calls, presentations, and events.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at target merchant organizations.
• Lead negotiations and close deals with merchants, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
• Collaborate with product, integration, and technical teams to facilitate smooth onboarding and integration for new merchants.
• Analyse market trends, competitor offerings, and merchant pain points to refine acquisition strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of pipeline activity, merchant feedback, and acquisition metrics.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote the payment gateway and generate leads.
• Provide feedback to internal teams on merchant needs and product improvements.
• Support cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in merchant acquisition, sales, or business development within the payments or fintech sector.
• Deep understanding of payment gateway technologies, merchant onboarding processes, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed acquisition targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with sales analytics tools.
• Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, conferences, and events as required.
