Merchandiser Production (Garment) — Job Description

We're looking for a Production Merchandiser to manage the end-to-end apparel production process, from order placement to shipment, ensuring quality, cost, and timeline targets are met.

  • Monitor and follow up sample development, production progress, material availability, and garment Purchase Orders (PO) to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate sample development and shipment processes with internal teams, factories, suppliers, and buyers.
  • Monitor fabric orders, fabric documentation, and material status while resolving fabric-related issues with mills and factories.
  • Manage bulk fabric orders and maintain effective communication with suppliers, factories, and buyers throughout the production process.
  • Ensure production timelines, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met.
  • Identify and resolve production issues in a timely manner, escalating complex matters to the supervisor when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution from product development through bulk production.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of garment development stages and manufacturing processes.

  • Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Management, Textile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Production Merchandiser or in a similar role within the garment or fashion industry.
    • Strong understanding of garment development, production planning, fabric sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
    • Experience handling samples, bulk production, Purchase Orders (PO), and production timelines.
    • Familiar with fabric types, garment construction, and production documentation.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with factories, suppliers, mills, and buyers.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple production schedules simultaneously.
    • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
