Lead mechanical engineering activities for data center construction and expansion projects, including HVAC, chilled water, piping, fire protection, and mechanical infrastructure.
Review mechanical designs, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Monitor construction quality, resolve mechanical technical issues, and ensure project delivery meets schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
Witness and validate testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all mechanical systems perform as designed before handover.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all mechanical systems after project completion, providing technical guidance and support to Facility Operations.
Develop and maintain engineering standards, technical documentation, SOPs, and best practices to support long-term reliability and maintainability.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, energy efficiency, operational resilience, and lifecycle cost of mechanical infrastructure.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in mechanical engineering for data centers, mission-critical facilities, MEP consulting, or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, piping, fire protection, and mechanical infrastructure.
Experience in design review, construction supervision, testing & commissioning, vendor coordination, quality control, and project handover.
Familiar with international standards such as ASHRAE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, NFPA, and relevant local codes.
Proficient in reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, BoQs, and technical documentation.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across consultants, contractors, vendors, procurement, and operations teams.
Professional certifications such as PMP, LEED, ATD, CDCP, or equivalent are an advantage.
