Job Description

• Provide mechanical engineering support to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Recovery Boiler and its auxiliary equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability.
• Monitor the condition and performance of Recovery Boiler mechanical equipment, identify failure trends, and implement reliability improvement initiatives.
• Investigate equipment failures, perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Plan and supervise major maintenance activities, inspections, shutdowns, and equipment overhauls.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, and Reliability teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
• Manage equipment reliability for critical assets, including pressure parts, soot blowers, recovery boiler fans, pumps, piping systems, valves, ash handling systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance and engineering activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company engineering practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a Recovery Boiler, preferably within the Pulp & Paper industry.
• Strong knowledge of Recovery Boiler systems, pressure parts, steam generation equipment, piping systems, pumps, fans, valves, soot blowers, and rotating equipment.
• Experience in maintenance engineering, equipment reliability, shutdown planning, and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and preventive/predictive maintenance methodologies.
• Able to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, PFDs, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience using SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ASME, API, or other applicable pressure equipment standards will be an advantage.
• Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Pelalawan Regency, Riau, Indonesia.
