Monroe Consulting Group Indonesia, an executive recruitment consulting firm, is recruiting on behalf of Indonesia's leading textile manufacturers. As part of its business growth and operational expansion, our client is seeking a Business Unit Lead to oversee commercial performance, drive strategic initiatives, and strengthen cross-functional coordination within its business operations. This position will be based in Central Java, Indonesia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain production machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement sustainable solutions
- Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and utilities
- Collaborate with production, quality, and technical teams to improve operational efficiency
- Monitor machine performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices
- Liaise with Mandarin-speaking suppliers, technicians, or principals regarding machinery, spare parts, and technical documentation
- Prepare maintenance reports, technical documentation, and improvement proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in textile, garment, or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and maintenance practices
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and troubleshooting
- Understanding of production equipment such as sewing machines, knitting machines, dyeing/finishing equipment, boilers, compressors, HVAC, or utilities is preferred
- Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is mandatory
- Ability to communicate with overseas suppliers / principals
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good teamwork and cross-functional collaboration ability
- Familiar with safety and operational standards in manufacturing
- Willingness to work in factory / production environment
