What will you do

In this position, you will join our growing Indonesia Built Environment business and play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that bring ideas to life for clients across building and infrastructure projects.

We are looking for two Mechanical Engineers on a fixed-term employment basis, with an opportunity to convert to permanent depending on business needs and performance. One role will specialise in Plumbing design and the other will specialise in HVAC design.

Project Delivery

• Responsible for the success of technical aspects of projects won or allocated.
• Apply established methods and technical judgement to deliver defined work and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and design mechanical building services systems, with a focus on either HVAC or plumbing depending on the role specialisation.
• Contribute to the design of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, where relevant to the project scope.
• Work on high-rise, large-scale, and/or complex building projects, with data centre design exposure considered an advantage.
• Ensure outputs meet required standards through review, validation, and quality assurance processes specific to mechanical engineering.
• Conduct site inspections to verify mechanical system installation and ensure alignment with design specifications.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural, civil, structural, and other project stakeholders to support seamless project execution and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design calculations, reports, equipment specifications, progress updates, and final deliverables.

Winning Work & Client Relationships

• Deliver proposals or parts of proposals by preparing accurate and complete information aligned to requirements.
• Manage defined bid components, ensuring quality and alignment to requirements.
• Navigate day-to-day client interactions to support delivery progress and resolve routine issues.
• Address client queries, resolve issues, and escalate where needed.
• Maintain client relationships through consistent service and responsiveness.

Commercial

• Deliver projects or work packages aligned to agreed scope, milestones, and delivery requirements.
• Work within budgets and delivery parameters for defined projects or work packages.

General Management

• Comply with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, and act as a role model for Aurecon's values and behaviours.
• Demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of Aurecon's business.
• Provide input into unit or office business planning, as requested.

What can you bring to the team

Firstly, you will share our genuine passion for re-imagining engineering and be someone who actively pursues continuous learning to help shape the future. You will also need the following:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years relevant professional or technical experience, ideally within buildings or industrial buildings.
• Strong mechanical building services design experience, with specialisation in Plumbing or HVAC.
• Experience in high-rise, large-scale, or complex building projects.
• Experience in Data Centre or Telecommunications projects is preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management ability.
• High-level engineering consulting and client management skills.
• Experience delivering major and/or complex design projects to blue-chip clients.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa, with well-developed commercial, analytical, and technical capability.
• Ability to explain complex engineering designs and solutions to non-technical audiences.
• Experience delivering innovative and complex commercial building projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience or interest in managing projects from strategic and detailed planning through to concept and detailed design.
