Location: Batam, Indonesia (under PT PCI Elektronik Internasional)
Responsibilities
- Drive product cost savings through Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.
- Analyze product designs, mechanical components, materials, manufacturing processes, and supply chains to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Review component specifications, drawings, and performance requirements to identify and qualify alternative or substitute mechanical parts.
- Conduct teardown analysis, benchmarking, should-cost analysis, and market assessments to support cost optimization initiatives.
- Execute VAVE projects from concept through implementation, working closely with Engineering, Commodity Management, Sourcing, and suppliers.
- Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders on prototype builds, testing, qualification, and implementation activities.
- Develop and maintain VAVE methodologies, target costing models, and project pipelines to achieve business cost reduction goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an EMS, manufacturing, or MNC environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical commodities, including plastics injection moulding, metal stamping, and precision machining.
- Good understanding of mechanical component specifications, material properties, manufacturing processes, and engineering drawings.
- Experience evaluating and qualifying alternative mechanical components, materials, and suppliers for cost reduction and value improvement.
- Strong analytical skills with knowledge of component costing, material pricing, and market trends.
- Experience in value engineering, component engineering, commodity engineering, cost engineering, or strategic sourcing is an advantage.
- Familiarity with supplier networks in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia is preferred.
- Candidates with strong relevant experience may be considered for a Senior position.
