About The Team
Bring ShopeePay to merchants in person and build the communities that keep them engaged. You will own offline activations, merchant gatherings and education programs, plus the always-on community and advocacy motion that turns satisfied merchants into referral engines. Expect meaningful time in the field and outside standard hours.
Job Description
- Plan and execute offline events end to end: merchant gatherings, onboarding/education workshops, roadshows, market activations, bazaars, sponsorship presence, and merchant appreciation events.
- Own event logistics: venue, permits, vendors, production, F&B, run-down, manpower, transport, budget and on-site troubleshooting.
- Build and manage merchant communities — WhatsApp/Telegram groups, community forums, merchant ambassador and referral programs — including moderation, content cadence and engagement metrics.
- Develop merchant education content and programming (financial literacy, digital marketing basics, how to grow with ShopeePay) in partnership with Creative and Product.
- Manage KOLs, local influencers, community leaders, associations (e.g. UMKM communities, pasar/paguyuban networks) and government/ecosystem partners where relevant.
- Coordinate closely with field Sales teams so events convert into acquisition, activation and transaction outcomes — not just attendance.
- Manage event budgets, vendor negotiation and procurement processes; deliver post-event reports with cost-per-acquisition and qualitative merchant feedback.
- Capture merchant stories, testimonials and content assets from the field for wider marketing use.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Event Management, Business or related field.
- Minimum 4 years in event management, brand activation, community management, or field marketing — agency or in-house.
- Proven experience running events end to end, including at least one multi-city or large-scale (200+ attendee) activation.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills; comfortable with budgets, quotations and procurement paperwork.
- Excellent interpersonal skills — able to build rapport quickly with SME/UMKM merchants, community leaders and internal field teams.
- Willing and able to travel domestically and work weekends/evenings during event periods.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia; working English.
Nice to Have
- Existing network within Indonesian UMKM communities, F&B merchant groups, or local business associations.
- Experience with community-led growth or referral/ambassador program design.
- Basic content creation skills (mobile video, photography) for on-the-ground capture.
