About the Role

We are presently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Lead to join our MedTech and Life Science operations in Batam. In this role, you will lead and manage the Manufacturing/Process Engineering team while serving as the technical subject matter expert and primary point of contact for designated product lines. You will act as project manager for manufacturing engineering initiatives within those product lines, with yield ownership and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for production processes and product quality on designated product lines, and the primary point of contact for cross-functional and customer-facing technical matters.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Manufacturing/Process Engineering team, including interviewing and hiring, preparing OJT programs, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Own yield performance and process robustness across designated product lines, setting targets and driving accountability to results.
  • Qualify new or relocated equipment, new materials, or new processes used in manufacturing, and analyze and issue evaluation/qualification reports.
  • Review product documentation related to Measurement System Analysis, Process FMEA, Process Control Plan, Working Instructions, and associated manufacturing procedures.
  • Provide technical advice on material suitability and process compatibility.
  • Serve as project manager for manufacturing engineering initiatives within assigned product lines — leading and driving project meetings, tracking actions to closure, and reporting progress to plan.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects, applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate/reduce waste and resolve chronic process issues.
  • Partner with NPI, Quality, Equipment, and Production teams to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Support product quality investigations and corrective/preventive actions related to process performance, escalating and resolving systemic issues.
  • Ensure the team's compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety management system requirements within the area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Physics, or related field).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering, including proven experience leading a team.
  • Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred with substantial project leadership and achievement.
  • Demonstrated track record of yield improvement and continuous improvement project ownership with measurable business impact.
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and structured problem-solving tools (QC Tools, 5Whys, Fishbone, 8D).
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and people development skills.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
