Mandarin Translator

Role Description The Mandarin Translator at PT Harmony Taste Industry is a full-time, on-site role based in Binjai. The translator will be responsible for accurately translating written and verbal communication between Mandarin and Indonesian/English, including business documents, emails, product information, and internal communications. Daily tasks include attending meetings to provide real-time interpretation, supporting communication between local teams and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders, and ensuring cultural and contextual accuracy in all translated materials. The role also involves collaborating with various departments to clarify technical terms, maintaining organized translation records, and reviewing existing content for consistency and quality. The translator is expected to follow company guidelines, meet deadlines, and contribute to smooth cross-language collaboration within the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Mandarin and Indonesian, with solid listening, and speaking skills in both languages.
• Ability to convey meaning accurately, considering cultural nuances and industry-specific terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to review and correct language, grammar, and tone in translated materials.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple translation tasks and meet deadlines.
• Comfort working on-site in Binjai and collaborating in a structured, team-oriented environment.
• Relevant educational background in Linguistics, Translation, Language Studies, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar tools for preparing and managing documents.
• Prior experience in the food and beverage or manufacturing sector is an advantage but not required.
