Our client is expanding its manufacturing operations by establishing a new plywood production facility in Central Java, Indonesia. As part of this exciting expansion, they are looking for an experienced and strategic Managing Director to lead the new operation and drive business growth.
Ideal Profile hands-on and strategic business leaderwho can take ownership of the new operation, build a high-performing organization, and successfully transform the new plywood facility from the setup stage into aprofitable and sustainable manufacturing business.

• Lead the overall business operations and strategic direction of the plywood manufacturing facility.
• Develop and execute the company's business strategy, operational plans, and growth initiatives.
• Oversee the overall plant operations, production, supply chain, sales, finance, HR, quality, and HSE functions.
• Establish and achieve key business objectives, includingrevenue, profitability, productivity, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Lead the setup and operationalization of thenew plywood manufacturing facility, ensuring readiness for commercial production.
• Develop organizational structure, build the management team, and establish an effective company culture.
• Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with applicablelegal, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships withcustomers, suppliers, business partners, government authorities, shareholders, and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities within the plywood and wood-based manufacturing industry.
• Provide regular business and operational performance updates to shareholders / the Board of Directors.
• Ensure the company operates with strong governance, accountability, and sustainable business practices.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree inBusiness, Engineering, Manufacturing, Forestry, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is an advantage.
• Minimum15 years of professional experience, with significant experience in senior leadership roles within manufacturing.
• Proven experience as aManaging Director, General Manager, Factory Director, Plant Director, or equivalent senior management position.
• Strong experience in plywood, wood-based products,  manufacturing, or related industries is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of managingmanufacturing operations and P&L responsibility.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, operational excellence, cost management, and productivity improvement.
• Experience insetting up or managing a new manufacturing plant / greenfield projectwill be a strong advantage.
• Strong commercial and business development understanding.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to drive profitability and sustainable growth.
• Excellent communication skills inEnglish and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Willing to be based in Wonogiri, Central Java, Indonesia.
