The company operates an asset-based business model with owned truck fleets and integrated logistics services, and is now looking to bring in a senior leader to drive the next phase of business growth.
About the Role
The Managing Director will be the key commercial and operational leader of the business, responsible for growing revenue, strengthening operational performance, and expanding the company's contract logistics capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who is equally comfortable setting strategic direction and getting into the details on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the company's core businesses in trucking and freight forwarding, with a clear focus on building contract logistics as a new growth pillar
- Develop and execute creative business proposals and go-to-market strategies to win new clients and expand revenue streams
- Oversee day-to-day operations across freight, trucking, warehousing, finance, and maintenance functions
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders including clients, partners, and the owner group
- Drive operational efficiency across the fleet and logistics network
- Lead, develop, and inspire a cross-functional team to achieve business targets
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics and transportation, with significant exposure to asset-based trucking operations
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding and contract logistics is a plus
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to both set vision and execute on the ground
- Strong stakeholder management skills — comfortable working closely with senior leadership
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop new business concepts and proposals
