Managing Director (Industrial/Electrical)

This is an Indonesia country leadership role with full P&L ownership, responsible for overseeing multiple business units and sites across Indonesia. The MD will lead overall business performance, drive commercial growth, and ensure operational excellence across the organization.

This role is ideal for a commercially strong, results-driven leader with experience managing industrial businesses, balancing sales and operations, and leading cross-functional teams in a multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Indonesia business with full P&L ownership, including revenue growth, profitability, and cost management
• Oversee multiple sites and business units across Indonesia, ensuring alignment on strategy and execution
• Drive commercial performance, including sales strategy, market expansion, and customer/channel development
• Provide strong leadership across sales, operations, engineering, and support functions
• Strengthen the organization's commercial capabilities, ensuring a balanced focus beyond purely technical operations
• Ensure operational efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with local regulations
• Partner closely with regional leadership, reporting directly to senior regional management
• Act as the key representative of the Indonesia business in engagements with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
• Support ongoing business initiatives and improvements across facilities and operations as required

Requirements

• 10-20 years of experience in general management, business leadership, or country leadership roles within the industrial, electrical, or manufacturing sectors
• Proven track record of owning and managing full P&L in a multi-site or multi-business environment
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive sales performance and business growth; candidates should not come from a purely technical or operations-focused background
• Experience in industries such as motors, electrical systems, transformers, or industrial equipment is highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across sales, engineering, operations, and support functions
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with regional and/or global leadership
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-entity environment, balancing operational and commercial priorities
• Fluent English and Bahasa Indonesia. Mandarin Chinese is an advantage but not mandatory.
