Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Manager Geotechnical, Hydrology & Pit Project Development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering and hydrology, as well as experience in a managerial role.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of mining operations from a geotechnical perspective by identifying and mitigating potential geotechnical risks and hazards.
- Establish geotechnical operational guidelines/procedures and emergency evacuation procedures in collaboration with the mine operations department.
- Provide recommendations and directions in making appropriate geotechnical decisions to maintain efficiency and sustainability of mining operations.
- Develop and lead the geotechnical team in providing technical support and solutions to operational problems.
- Maintain good relationships with geotechnical service providers to support mining operations efficiently.
- Collaborate and interact with the geotechnical design team in open pit and underground mining projects and ensure proper implementation.
- Ensure the achievement of common goals with mine planning, mine operations, site management, and contractors.
Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Experience in leading a team to handle geotechnical projects effectively.
- Understand the technical and operational aspects of the mining industry and be able to adapt to changing regulations and technologies.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze complex geotechnical data and make decisions based on the analysis results.
- Good communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, from team members to senior management.
- Experience with geotechnical software.
- Certification or license related to geotechnical engineering or other technical expertise is considered a plus.
